Line and wash watercolour by Frank Collict - 1 Sep 25
Frank Collict conducted a fast and accurate watercolour painting demonstration over an hour and a half, producing two paintings. Starting with a pencil sketch inked in waterproof black, he worked on Bockingford paper using a limited palette and techniques such as mopping with tissue, drying with a hairdryer, crayon thickness, and scraping with a guitar plectrum to create texture. He applied various colour mixes for clouds (Paynes Grey/Raw Sienna), hills, trees, bushes (Bluey/Green with a hint of brown or sienna), roofs (Blue/Grey), and mid-ground elements in a methodical top-to-bottom approach.
